Micky Bronger | Had some bad news in the week that island bait digging legend Micky Bronger has died. Mick had dug bait for all the local shops and if you have ever bought bait on the island there is a good chance that he dug it. Have good memories of Mick, he dug for my dads shop in the seventies and was a larger than life character, he once found a live 28lb conger in a rock pool over here and the headlines in the local rag were "BRONGER FINDS A CONGER!"
Where ever he is now I bet he has a fork in his hand and his wellies on.
Rest in peace mate, you will be missed.

AGM Update | At the recent AGM, Alan Jeffrey decided to step down as the club secretary, he has found it hard with work issues and decided that the time had come to take more of a back seat; he is though remaining on the committee.
So we have had to have a re-arrange of the senior committee. It was decided that I would step across and take over as club secretary, but still be treasurer of the Kent Classic; in turn Mick Yates will take over as club treasurer in line with his role as vice chair.
On a sad note Kelvin Page has decided to step down. We would like to thank Kelvin for his tireless work during his time on the committee, Kelvin will be greatly missed by all of the committee.
On a brighter note Alan Wildish has decided that after a year off he would like to re-join the committee, Alan and his organisation skills were greatly missed last year and we are delighted to welcome him back.
Proposal
It was also decided that instead of having a second rod with just the line through the rings, you can now have a second rod with a baited trace ready to cast, the second rod cannot however be cast until the other rod is reeled in with the weight and trace clear of the water.
Thanks to those that turned up on the night.
